Dr Ayush Bharti (Aalto University) awarded Academy of Finland Fellowship, including funding for a PhD student and several research visits at UCL to work with F-X Briol on simulation-based inference.

Many members of the group attend the ISBA World Meeting. F-X Briol receives the Blackwell-Rosenbluth Award and Jeremias Knoblauch receives the Savage Award.

F-X Briol becomes theme lead for ‘Computational Statistics and Machine Learning’ within UCL Statistical Science, and co-director of the UCL ELLIS unit

Kaiyu Li awarded the UCL MAPS Faculty Innovation & Enterprise Award for the potential impact of her PhD thesis on tsunami risk assessment and prevention.

Our paper Robust and Conjugate Gaussian Process Regression was accepted as a spotlight paper (top 3.5%) at ICML 2024!

Alessandro Barp joins UCL (and the FSML group) as a lecturer in Statistical Science.

One paper accepted at UAI 2024 on the topic of Bayesian quadrature for computing parametric expectations.

Two papers accepted at ICML 2024. The papers are both on the topic of scalable generalised Bayes, one in the context of Gaussian processes, and the other in the context of Kalman filtering.
