Yann McLatchie joins the group as a PhD student supervised by Dr. Jeremias Knoblauch.

Dr François-Xavier Briol is awarded a Blackwell-Rosenbluth Award from the International Society for Bayesian Analysis. The award “aims at recognizing outstanding junior Bayesian researchers based on their overall contribution to the field and to the community”.

Masha Naslidnyk is awarded a Helmholtz Visiting Researcher Grant to visit goes on a research visit Dr Krikamol Muandet at the CISPA-Helmholtz Center for Information Security during September-November 2023.

Dr Ieva Kazlauskaite joins the group on an independent research fellowship (IMSS fellowship). Welcome Ieva!

Dr. F-X Briol takes part in the ‘Machine and Molecules’ podcast to talk about some of the research taking place in the group.

Three papers accepted at ICML 2023. Topics include likelihood-free inference, robust change-point detection, and variance reduction for Monte Carlo.

New blog post on The Alan Turing Institute’s website on our collaboration with the UK Met Office and Oxford Engineering on the topic statistical machine learning for wind farm modelling.

The group organised and hosted a workshop of 80 academics on the topic of “Distance-based methods in machine learning”. More details available on the ‘Sample Space’.
